The same first-week structure I give my patients — day-by-day, what to expect, the 4Ds craving toolkit, and how to stack the layers that actually work.

The case for behavioural support

Most quit attempts don't fail in week one. They fail in month three.

Pharmacotherapy gets you through the chemistry. What's missing for most people — and what doubles long-term success rates in the evidence — is the behavioural layer.

3–5%
Long-term success rate of unaided quit attempts (no NRT, no support).
~2×
The increase in success rates when combination NRT is used correctly.
~2×
A further doubling on top of NRT when structured behavioural support is added.
Who this is for

Built for every form of nicotine — not just cigarettes.

The pharmacology of nicotine is the same regardless of how it's delivered. The behavioural environment around each is different, and the coaching adapts to that.

🚬
Cigarettes
Daily smokers, social smokers, and "I only smoke when I drink" patterns
💨
Vape
Pod systems, disposables, refillables — including dual-use with cigarettes
🌬️
Shisha
Waterpipe, hookah, narghile — including the social/cafe pattern
🪈
Midwakh
Small-bowl pipes; dokha tobacco. Common across the Gulf and diaspora
🌿
Multi-source
For the most common pattern: shisha + vape, or cigarettes + occasional shisha
The method

A six-session programme designed around the long tail.

Not a single consultation. Not a course. A structured programme over eight weeks — calibrated to the real curve of relapse risk.

01

Intake — your full nicotine picture

A 60-minute deep dive into every nicotine source, every previous quit attempt, every trigger, every concern. The plan is built around your actual pattern — not a generic protocol.

02

Quit-day preparation

NRT and pharmacology guidance (scoped as education — the actual prescription comes from your local doctor or pharmacist). Trigger map. Environmental setup. The week-one schedule is built before quit day arrives.

03

Quit day + 72-hour support

A live session on the day, then check-in messaging through the peak withdrawal window. The hardest 72 hours are not done alone.

04 – 06

Three follow-ups across weeks 2, 4 and 8

The phase where most quit attempts quietly relapse. We work on habit replacement, identify your highest-risk events in the 30 days ahead, and build the plan for each one. By week 8, the pattern is consolidating.

About the coach

Dr Kirath Sidhu — Occupational Health Doctor

I'm a medical doctor based in Penang, Malaysia, specialising in occupational health. For years I've worked with multinational manufacturers and individual patients across South-East Asia and the Middle East on workplace health, medical surveillance, and lifestyle medicine — including smoking cessation.

This coaching practice is the natural extension of that work. It is scoped as education and behaviour-change coaching, not telemedicine or prescription. The medical training shapes how I assess, what I recommend, and what I refer back to your treating doctor — but the deliverable is structured support, not clinical care.

If you have tried to quit before and it didn't work, the most useful thing I can probably offer you is a clearer picture of why, and a method that addresses the actual gap.
